It is the year 1815. Napoleon is just completing his conquest of Europe and beginning to set his eyes on Russia. To the south, the Ottoman Empire is still mighty yet beginning to feel the strain of long rule. Despite recently losing the colonies of America to revolution, the British Empire is at its peak. With colonies in North America, Africa, and Australia, their forces are mighty. Yet to the east, the mighty Qing Dynasty still rules China and the Japanese samurai still hold sway. And what will be the fate of the USA, Mexico, and South America?
The purpose of this scenario is to allow players to begin a multiplayer game in the industrial age and have the chance to use more advanced technologies and units. This point in history was chosen because it allows relatively equivalent world powers to be spread around the globe, giving players a diverse choice of groups. At the same time, few students come to this scenario with a very sophisticated view of the world in the 19th century… particularly with the Ottoman Empire.
